Article by Reiki Master Sunetra Dasgupta, Reiki Rays

Oils have always been a part of the Indian households for a long time. The wrestlers who are also known as “Pehelwans” in India get their body massaged with Sesame Oil, when babies are born they are massaged with mustard oil, when prayers are offered to deity “diya” is lit which has coconut or sesame or clarified butter, people from a very young age have almond, castor, coconut oil massaged such that they have long, beautiful and thick hair. A trip to the Nilgiris with my teacher made me discover a few essential oils which made me go back to the roots ☺
